Their Job is to protect. "The Natural Heritage & Endangered Species Program is responsible for the conservation and protection of hundreds of species that are not hunted, fished, trapped, or commercially harvested in the state, as well as the protection of the natural communities that make up their habitats".
The Endangered Species Program administers the Endangered Species Act. The program aims to enable the recovery of species on the Endangered Species List and to prevent more species from being added to the list through proactive conservation efforts.

The Endangered Species Act establishes protections for fish, wildlife, and plants that are listed as threatened or endangered; provides for adding species to and removing them from the list of threatened and endangered species, and for preparing and implementing plans for their recovery; provides for interagency cooperation to avoid take of listed species and for issuing permits for otherwise prohibited activities; provides for cooperation with States, including authorization of financial assistance; and implements the provisions of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Flora and Fauna (CITES).

Many loads of earth were hauled up the mountainside and the effects when you have big big construction going on are devastating to plants, trees and animals. All species were either killed in their habitat, fled the mountain or were eaten alive by the large numbers of hawk's circling above. Not a mouse, not a baby snake was safe in the barren environment.

Why did all these snakes leave the mountain ? I'm under a Cease and Desist and the damage was done almost a year and a half before. Where was the protection? Why am I'm made to pay for the damages. This is more than just moving a wetland.

I belong to Rim's Rhode Island Mobile Sportfishermen club in Rhode Island. Like at the Cape, there are sand trails and the Piping Plover makes this area one of it's prime nesting places. The beach is shut down - no traffic while the birds are nesting.

A Moose is returned to lot-2 after being tranquilized in Westfield. Snakes, Moose, Deer, and many other species like Timber Rattlers thrived here. It was a State Protected Area. It was planned that someone other than the violator would pay the price.

The home was sold to protect the killer 2010. Soon as the birds were gone, after the home sale to his girlfriend, the pond was dug to the ledge and a pump installed to make noise and drive the birds away. He left no access for birds or animals. A dog fell in and couldn't get out in winter due to the banks so steep. It's only 2.5 to 3 feet deep due to ledge.
